Anxiety is wrecking my life,ive been diagnosed as sufferring it by my doctor at the ripe age of 21. I cant control it everyday im convinced i have colon cancer, i worry constantly about my health and how i would cope if anything happened to my loved ones. I feel like im going mad but ive got to wait for my appointment with the Cognitve behavioural therapist and that could be a few months, does anyone know anything that could halp me control it till then
Reading your question, reminded me of myself on some days. I do not at all have a cure, as most of us simply will not. However, some things that have helped me relax, distract, calm down, etc are things like yoga, boxing, wear you out exercise. The yoga is a good thing at the end of a work out, even if it is just a few poses with the deep breathing. THe workout like running a few miles or something that gets your heart rate going…..hopefully to the point of the adreniline high, or you could do something like boxing, it distracts, exerts you….to where quite frankly….the mind power to worry is less, and if your mad…….boxing definately helps. I work out when I have an unwanted emotion, need distraction, feel like I am losing my mind etc. So these things will not necessarily control it, however from my experiance it can help direct the worry into a more productive area. Do not just sit there an worry, do not sit there and overwhelm yourself with thoughts that worsen the worry, take a run, do some push-ups. LIke I said this is not at all a cure, but these are things that have helped me momentarily.
