
Effective Stress Management and Relaxation?
Stress has been defined by some as an “imbalance between demands and resources” or when “pressure exceeds one’s perceived ability to cope”
My question is, what specific steps to do you use, or have you found effective when Dealing With Stress?
I usually don’t get Stressed out. I am a Stage Manager, which is a high stress position in theatre, but I pride myself in my ability to stay calm.
How do I stay calm, I don’t really know. All i do is try to stay on top of things, and never assume anything. If I do find myself feeling a bit stressed I just try to sit back and relax, and try to remind myself that what is meant to happen will happen and that it is impossible to make good decisions when you Panic.
So basically, for me, I just don’t worry about what could go wrong, but rather think about what needs to be done. If you can’t think of anything to be done, then relax (or jam out) to some music and have a cup of coffee/tea.
